The Heart Pantry Project

We install and maintain red, heart-shaped pantries that are hosted by local businesses and organizations. Residents drop off what they can, and others take what they need. We also work to keep up a steady supply of items by stocking the pantries ourselves, especially with non-food items. One of our chief goals is to increase the flow of essentials beyond food and water.

The need for these additional items is especially important during the Winter, a life-threatening time for those without housing. Hypothermia and frostbite are real possibilities. Infections caused by skin being exposed to water for long periods of time can turn septic.

We supply outdoor pantries with warming gear such as dry socks and shoe covers, handwarmers, space blankets and tarps, and other necessities. Thanks to our we were able to supply hundreds of space blankets and handwarmers, and dozens of hats, tarps, and pairs of gloves and socks. We couldn’t keep up a steady supply of these items without your financial donations.

If you are local to the Eugene area, direct donations of food and winter gear to the pantries are always needed. Just visit any of our pantries to drop off items.

If you are unable to make direct donations, you can order from our Amazon wishlist, or make a donation through our campaign at Fundly.
